Production Manager

Area: Industria Johannesburg Duties and Responsibilities (Not Limited to):Manage and prioritize the production of high quality packaging consistently through improvement and innovation.Ensure delivery of sustainable cost effective, fit for purpose, packagingImprove speed of service delivery avoiding production errors or loss.Ensure production lines run smoothly with minimum downtime.Ensure client specifications are met in all aspects related to quantities, dimensions, ply and deliveryEnsure company standards related to Health and Safety, Housekeeping and other relevant standard operating procedures are met.Ensuring that the manufacturing schedules are met.Staff Management:Day to day supervision of factory staff.Conducting periodical performance reviews.Communicating with management regarding staff related issues and resolving grievances.Dispute resolution.Ensuring that employees wear appropriate PPE and use safe working practices.Maintaining Timekeeping records and Leave ManagementIdentifying abuse of sick leave and absenteeism and escalating disciplinary measures to managementIdentifying poor performance and implementing procedures to increase employee productivity.Competencies/ Skills:Competent team manager with good leadership skillsAble to work with production forecastsExcellent at building customer relations.Team player who can lead a diverse team.Ability to work in a high pressure environment.Understanding corrugated manufacturing processes is a Must. Desirable:Tertiary education related to production management would be advantageous
