Key purpose of the role:To manage the production sound engineer team and ensure all audio production output is of high quality and contributes to the success of client campaigns and enhances the sound of our stations.Key outputs and responsibilities:Produce audio.Produce brand imaging, demos, commercial recordings, podcasts, video & digital audio for all Primedia Broadcasting platforms.Work with internal and external clients in studio to produce creative audio material.Liaise with Production Traffic and Copywriters on voice artist selection.Direct voice-over artists in recording sessions.Manage consistent output of sound production across the Primedia Broadcasting brands.Manage all imaging and music library updates.Load audio onto play out systems.Manage audio engineers.Manage the day-to-day work of the engineer team and their output, ensuring a high quality standard of work.Manage production studios and ensure all work meets the given deadlines.Assist in the progression of the team's creative and technical audio-related skills.Manage and liaise with 3rd party vendors.Develop and maintain relationships with station voices.Ensure the engineer team operates according to Primedia's Values.Develop and maintain station relationships nationally.Cross functional Collaboration:Collaborate with the rest of Productions and other departments across Primedia.Educational qualifications:Degree or diploma in Audio Engineering.Formal and informal training to support the skills required.Required knowledge and experience:At least 5-8 years' experience in radio production.Proficient experience in Pro Tools software is essential.Ability to work effectively with different teams across the business.Required skills:Ability to produce audio for all Primedia platforms, including commercials, promos, station imaging and supporting our visual output.Proficient with ProTools or similar audio editing program and industry-standard broadcast equipment.Ability to manage an audio production team.Ability to direct voice-over artists.Ability to multi-task and adapt.Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.Ability to understand and manage budgets, and supplier relationships.Attributes:Receive and give open and frank feedback.Impart knowledge to business partners and team members.Deadline Driven.Resourceful in planning, organising, and prioritising work.Be analytical, innovative, creative, proactive, and have strong decision-making skills.A good team player who integrates and shares knowledge and skills.Self-Motivator.Attention to detail.Good people-management skills.Good time management.Suitable candidates will be selected in accordance with Primedia Broadcasting's Employment Equity Policy.
