A well-known restaurant franchise in Cape Town is currently in search of a Procurement Specialist to become a valuable member of their team. This is a permanent hybrid role. Please note that for the first six months, the role will require in-office work. After this period, the hybrid model will apply.The Procurement Specialist is responsible for competitively sourcing and procuring the approved product basket, ensuring the correct quantities are obtained and delivered to the designated location on time.General Coordinate and enforce optimal buying policies and procedures. Drive best practice and new thinking to ensure all buying elements / systems remain relevant Develop systems and processes that track and optimise dry goods profitability and quality standards Prepare and execute annual budgets Product Define supplier strategy, identify and appoint suitable suppliers. Implementation of corrective action relating to non-performance by suppliers as soon as it happens. Maintain and track performance of core items ensuring the correct quality and specifications are maintained Ensure input costs of product remain competitive and market related Take corrective action when input prices are out of line with comparable product in the market Prepare and execute annual budgets. Inventory Maintain and track performance of core items ensuring the correct inventory levels are maintained Implementation of corrective action relating to non-performance / over performance of core product. Together with their distribution partners initiate and drive continuous improvements in planning policies and procedures Requirements5-10 years of experience in sourcing and procurement, preferably in the food and beverage industry, particularly within FMCG categories In-depth knowledge of the food and beverage industry, particularly within FMCG categories. Comprehensive understanding of how product decisions affect menu offerings and restaurant operations. Solid grasp of the regional supplier landscape and product types. Good understanding of the franchise business environment and its inherent complexities. Proficient in analysing data to identify risks and opportunities, with the ability to make informed recommendations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong negotiation skills.
