Job Description Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Demand Planner, to be based at the McCain Rosebank office, Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Supply Chain Planning Manager.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:Generate a rolling 24 to 36 month baseline Fore Cast at a SKU, customer and weekly level by using historical sales data, statistical modelling as well as demand forecast drivers.
Drive collaboration meetings with the Commercial teams to add on market/ promotional activity assumptions in order to get an aligned/ signed off consensus forecast.
Maintain Advance Planning & Optimization (APO) master data to enable consensus forecast to effectively pull through into Material Requirement Planning (MRP) for production planning.
Co-ordinate monthly collaboration meetings with Commercial teams to reconcile significant variances/ changes to forecast and refine the forecast model to reflect updated sales and marketing assumptions.
Continuously undertake SKU analysis and trending to support the Sales and Marketing teams, while analysing deviations to plan on a weekly and monthly basis and initiating resolutions.
Place detailed emphasis on analysis of promotional activity and provide insights to the Sales and Marketing teams.
Document all assumptions related to forecast changes accordingly.
Highlight all short term changes (i.e., < 3 months) to the Production Planning team and obtain feedback as to whether these changes are feasible or not - feedback to be shared with the Commercial team accordingly and signed off plans updated where required.
Measure KPI’s (forecast accuracy, bias and sales to plan) on a weekly and monthly basis.
Build and maintain good communication and collaboration with all stakeholders within the business to ensure good relationships and effective alignment.
Compile and ensure effective setup to manage the MRP for continuity in raw, Packaging materials and ingredients with the MRP controller.
Commercial Degree/diploma – preference to Supply Chain, Planning or Logistics.
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS:Strong analytical skills.
Strong experience in Demand and Supply Planning.
Demonstrated proficiency in statistics, forecasting and forecasting methods with an understanding of their financial and operational impacts.
Demonstrate knowledge of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and the demand planning process.
Working knowledge of SAP APO.
Ability to work under pressure as well as to apply prioritization abilities.
Display leadership ability.
Ability to deliver insights to the business and attention to details.
Build effective relationships with Commercial and Supply Chain teams.
Assertiveness in driving for business understanding and results.
Strong communicator to all levels, experience dealing with senior level professionals.
Inspiring others to action, follow up and facilitating change.
Strong time management and organisational skills.
Strong Excel skills.
