Magnolia House Surgery in Sunningdale, Berkshire is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated team player to join our team as a Paramedic Practitioner. We provide a friendly, fun and supportive environment to work and are continually developing systems and ways of working to ensure we offer high quality patient care.Magnolia House Surgery has an expanding team who all work well together and offer support. This includes nursing staff, paramedics, clinical pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, care co-ordinators, Social prescribers and many more. We are a training practice with a range of specialist interests which we actively encourage and would welcome. Current interests within the surgery include minor illness, minor surgery, joint injections, LARC fitting, diabetes and respiratory nursing specialists and we are a supportive and established member practice of the Ascot Primary Care Network and local federation Berkshire Primary Care.Application closing date is 27th September 2024 with interviews planned for October.When applying please detail your relevant experience and why you would like to work at Magnolia House Surgery. Informal visits available by prior arrangement and you are welcome to speak to our current paramedic and teams.Main duties of the jobWorking as part of the Duty Team to manage the on-the-day patient demandTelephone Triage is a significant part of this role and prior experience is desirableFace to Face assessment where appropriate after triagePrescribing qualification is desirable however the practice will support the right candidate in attaining thisLiaising with other professionals e.g. district nurses, secondary care, ambulance serviceHome visiting when appropriate.About usOur practice team currently consists of 5 GP partners, 2 salaried GP's, a team of HCA's and Nurses (one nurse who is training to become and ACP) as well as an ever expanding admin team who support the day to day running of the practice. We have an expanding list size, are a training practice, are rated 'Good' from CQC, high QOF achievers and have strong links with our local federation and are part of a 4 practice PCN. We use Emis web and Docman.Job responsibilitiesFor further information about the job and the role itself, please see the attached job description and person specification.Person SpecificationQualificationsExperience of telephone triage and face to face appointmentsPrimary care consultationsNMC or HCPC RegistrationHistory Taking experiencePhysical assessment trainingStrong listening, communication, presentation and social skills and a willingness to contribute to improving systems and proceduresAble to represent the practice positively in a multitude of settingsBeing organised and methodical in process review and implementationLiaising with team members to challenge current process and where improvements to efficiencies can be madeLiaise with the business manager on key areas of workflow within the EMIS system are maintained to safe proportionsAbility to communicate with the team on areas of achievement and areas of improvement regarding performance indicatorsContribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and team activities and make suggestions on ways to improve and enhance the teams performanceAssess own performance and take accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervisionParticipation in an annual individual performance review, including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own personal and/or professional developmentTaking responsibility for own development, learning and performance and demonstrating skills and activities to others who are undertaking similar workMasters degree or equivalent in Advanced PracticePrescribing course completedExperience of working in Primary CareExperience of working in a Duty Team (providing on the day care)Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
