RedCat Recruitment is seeking a qualified and experienced OCCUPATIONAL, HEALTH AND SAFETY MANAGER for a well-established, growing concern, position based in the Durban, Kwazulu-Natal.
REQUIREMENTS Grade 12.
Valid drivers license / own reliable transport Diploma in Safety, Health and Environmental SAMTRAC, NEBOSH or relevant.
Strong computer skills (MS Office, Email / Internet).
English speaking (must be able to speak, read and write English competently).
3 -5 years HSE experience gained ideally within a FMCG environment.
Knowledge of relevant OHS legislation (OHS Act and Regulations, COVID, COIDA, etc).
Risk management and assessment.
Previous 16(2) appointment experience.
Manage Health and Safety Representatives.
Create and review the OHS Policy and clear objective to be achieved for the year or agreed period; Conduct thorough risk assessments of the entire workplace with the objective of reducing hazards and risks to an acceptable level.
Create and manage a successful and functioning OHS Committee with Health and Safety Representatives representation, to drive OHS within the organisation.
Arrange annual OHS training for the company in first aid, firefighting, Health and Safety representative, and supervisor.
Create and review safe work procedures across the organisations operations and maintenance and wherever necessary.
Ensure regular (monthly) workplace health and safety inspections to ensure OHS policy, objectives and safe work procedures are being adhered to.
Monitor, implement and review OHS and equipment performance to ensure compliance and continual improvement.
Ensure all Department of Labour inspections are clear.
Ensure the relevant health and safety information on the Intranet is updated at all times.
Ensure proper health and safety induction is given to all employees.
