RESPONSIBILITIES
Is responsible for safe maintenance and repair of equipment and machines in order to ensure the availability and reliability thereof.
Is responsible for engineering technical compliance.
Perform inspections and work in accordance with the Mine Standards and Procedures and the Mine Health and Safety Act and regulations.
Recording of inspections, maintenance and repairs conducted to equipment on checklists and job cards.
Be able to identify faults and repair defects without supervision.
Maintain good housekeeping in the area of responsibility.
Ensuring that all planning and productivity requirements are safely achieved.
Undertake appropriate Risk Assessments (RA) in order to perform in a safe and controlled manner.
Must be prepared to work shifts, overtime and standby duties.
Maintaining and repairing of relevant equipment and machinery and general housekeeping.
Providing specialised engineering technical services to engineering and production teams.
Use experience and knowledge in innovative ways to solve problems.
Ensure the availability of machinery.
Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
Comply with company policies and procedures.
Advise the responsible Mechanical Engineering Foreman of any unsafe conditions.
Participate in routine workplace safety activities.
Be willing to work overtime as and when required.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATION
Red Seal Qualified Millwright.
Flameproofing Certification is a requirement.
At least 4 years experience.
Sound experience in handling mechanical & electrical tasks.
Logical reasoning skills is required for problem solving.
Experience with Underground Mining Equipment.
Load Haul dumper experience.
Rebuild of Mine machinery.
Hydraulic Experience.
Heavy duty Machinery Experience.
Ability to work under pressure.
Must be a Team player.
