Seeking a skilled Mechanic to assemble, maintain and repair machinery and vehicles. Will be responsible for ensuring functionality and reliability of machines, engines and mechanical systems.An excellent mechanic who must have manual dexterity and great attention to detail. Must be able to work with various machines and tools as well as follow all safety precautions. Requirements:4-5 Years as MechanicExperience with timber related machinery, moulders, finger jointer, bandsaw, planers, sharpeners, sanders.Experience with vehicles are light and heavy commercial vehicles, diesel and petrol engines.Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their componentsAptitude in using various hand tools (screwdrivers, hammers etc.) and precision measurement tools (e.g. callipers)Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction, blueprints etc.A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelinesVery good communication skills and report writing skillsA problem-solving abilityVery good physical strength and staminaHigh school diploma is preferred; Certification from a vocational school or completion of apprenticeship is a definite plusPrevious experience in the timber industry and machinery related.Clear Criminal RecordValid drivers licence, preferably code 10 or 14 ResponsibilitiesBuild and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirementsInspect machines, motors, tools etc.Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliabilityTroubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely mannerPerform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment and systemsClean and apply lubricants to machinery componentsProvide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle usersUndertake other duties as assignedKeep logs of work and reports on issuesFull responsibility for the tooling store
