Job Description:Identify and explore opportunities for improving processes and productsCollaborate with support functions during investigationsResearch projects aimed at reducing wasteExamine manufacturing processes and components that face challenges with safety, time, and qualityWork with support functions and stay updated on industry advancementsAssist manufacturing lines to meet production targetsUnderstand new design projects and identify ways to improve and implement themDiscuss designs with the design and manufacturing teamsIdentify risks related to safety, time, and quality for new projectsSupport engineers with action plans for prototypesHelp introduce new builds and provide feedback on changesUpdate risk assessments based on prototypes and work with teams to address build issuesOffer guidance to ensure successful introduction of new modelsCreate and compile technical documents, including manufacturing and assembly drawings, quality control documents, and manualsParticipate in design changes through the Engineering Change Request processSupport various departments like Manufacturing, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics, and WarrantyHelp resolve quality issues and improve processes to reduce losses and meet quality and delivery goalsFind alternatives for obsolete stock and specify product details for purchasingSkills & Experience: Strong problem-solving and analytical abilitiesExperience in product designEffective communication skillsProficient in project planning and managementStrong numerical skills and experience with relevant softwareSound decision-making capabilitiesUnderstanding of manufacturing processes for specific or similar productsMechanical and general technical engineering knowledgeSelf-motivated with a high level of focusQualification:Required Qualification: National Diploma (NQF Level 6) in Mechanical EngineeringPreferred Qualification: BTech or Bachelor's degree (NQF Level 7) in Mechanical Engineering Only South African Residents or individuals with a relevant South African work permit will be considered.
