Maintenance Fitter

Our client is looking for a Maintenance Fitter to join their company PURPOSE OF THE JOBTo offer mechanical support to factory operations ensuring that equipment downtime is kept to an absolute minimumMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Educational: Matric / Grade 12 (minimum)Qualified Artisan (N3), Trade TestExperience: Minimum 5 years' experience in a heavy industrial environment.Must have a sound knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY RESULT AREAS Maintenance Daily planned maintenanceDaily preventative maintenance routinesRoutine inspections/early diagnoses of possible equipment failures, excessive wearCommunication with supervisors/production to arrange preventative maintenance timeArranging for parts to be available timeously to carry out preventative maintenance routinesFault diagnosis/repairs to equipmentDiagnose root cause of equipment failurePlan action to remove cause of failureRepair failure to "good as new" as speedily as possibleReport on action taken and record downtimeEnsure equipment's correct operation due to the action taken and obtain manufacturing process approval of equipment's operating conditionService to production requirementsAvailability at all times to assist with production requestsAssist production in resolving process related problemsAssist with operator training where requiredCommunicate with production on planning changes to production runs timeouslyIdentify and communicate with production problems not yet apparent with production, and advise accordingly and report back in writing to maintenance superMaintaining machine process capabilities"First off" inspection on all process changesPeriodically inspect product manufactured against quality requirementsInspect statistical process charts to evaluate equipment capability and correct where necessaryPlot engineering related statistical process charts and use of barometer of equipment performanceReport in writing on out-of-control conditions to superiorDaily HousekeepingESSENTIAL KNOWLEGDE AND REQUIRED SKILLS: A good understanding of Quality requirements in a Manufacturing environmentExcellent Problem-solvingShould you not receive any feedback within 2 weeks please consider your application unsuccessful
