We offer you the opportunity to establish yourself within a professional, corporate environment in the countryside.Job description.The successful incumbent will be responsible for assisting a qualified artisan with the day-to-day duties in a particular trade and will have sufficient relevant experience to perform the assistant work required.Job requirementsGrade 12 or NQF Level 4 Equivalent.N2 Certificate - Electrical or Mechanical.Practical mechanical experience in an abattoir/ manufacturing plant.Related mechanical courses done will be advantageous.Willingness to work overtime incl. shifts, weekends/ holidays when required.Duties and responsibilitiesWill be the assistant to the artisan with the following:Maintaining, cleaning and sorting of the workshop.Limit downtime in the plant to prevent unnecessary loss of production.Daily inspection of all machinery and tools inside the production plant and writing a report about inspection findings.Ensure monthly planned maintenance on all machinery and tools are done as specified.Inspect conveyers continuously to ensure conveyers are operational and functional in order for production to continue.Repair all relevant buildings and infrastructure on request of managementAssist with breakdowns in the plant to repair damage as soon as possible and ensure minimum breakdown time.To liaise with internal departments on an ongoing basis to ensure the quality of service and products.Skills requiredUnderstanding of production procedures.Knowledge of Health and safety procedures.Ability to read manuals.Good communication skills.Accuracy and attention to detail.Team player.Able to work under pressure.The company can expire jobs at any time at our own discretion.
