Attention all Legal Eagles!
We're in a hunt for a Litigation Claims Consultant to manage Litigation files (Criminal, Civil, Family & Labour) and ensure that our service providers comply with the service level agreement entered into.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
(Duties as set out below is not an exhaustive list, and as such any reasonable request made by Law for All or demands that the office might require due to operations will be the responsibility of the Litigation Claims Consultant to comply with and/or attend to)
Drafting cases on Lawyerly;
Attending to Criminal, Civil, Family and Labour files;
Managing litigation claims in cooperation with the Head of Department and in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Claims Policy and any other policies provided by the Chief Risk officer or Head of Claims;
Drafting claims and submission thereof to the Merit Assessment Committee;
Verification of policy payment history monthly;
Organising referrals/instructions to accredited panel attorneys;
Follow repudiation/exclusion procedures in accordance with the claims policy and legal operational manual;
Monthly case management of the files until finalization of the matter, which will include not only obtaining feedback from a Service Provider but also questioning the Service Provider if the service provided is sub-par, not in accordance with the laws of South Africa and will cause the policyholder and/or Law For All prejudice;
Managing of all files until finalization of the matter, which includes providing the Policy Holder with monthly feedback on the progress and status of the matter, together with any changes that could occur within their respective policies. This further includes ensuring that the expectations of the Policy Holder are managed in respect of the extent/limitations within the policy;
Making use of only the Xcally system at all times in order for calls to be recorded. (The Litigation Claims Consultant is therefore expected to verify the identity of policyholders and attend to security checks);
Manage invoices/accounts received from Service Providers;
Complying with all the provisions contained in the Claims Policy.
REQUIREMENTS:
LLB and an admitted attorney or advocate;
Ability to speak, write and understand two official African languages of which English or Afrikaans should be one OR both;
Excellent communication skills, initiative, and computer literate;
Able to work with little to no supervision;
Positive and motivated individual;
At least 1 year (post articles) Litigation experience;
Excellent administration abilities and skills;
Excellent drafting skills;
Excellent team player;
Be able to work in a stressful environment.
