Job Description:The Pharmacist will be responsible for the provision of medication and supplementary services to patients and members of the healthcare team. The incumbent will also assume responsibility for ensuring that patient needs are met in a responsible, satisfactory and cost-effective manner by member of the dispensary team. Maintaining high professional and ethical standards in accordance with the GPP — implement and enforce policies and procedures(ads1)Job Responsibilities:Act as custodian for the management of Schedule S & 6 drugs as per legal requirements includingSchedule drug audits (quarterly balancing) and reportsEnsure maximum safety of patients by providing advice on the appropriate selection, dosage and drug interaction, potential side effects and therapeutic effects of medicinesLiaise with nursing and doctors – Formal communication regarding operational changes, challenges, out of stocks and incidents.Conduct related administrative, HR/IR and house-keeping tasks independentlySupervise and control the acquisition, storage, dispensing of medicine and related substances by all member of the dispensing teamOversee and participate in daily dispensing processes (hospital and retail) and daily processes in all surgical areas including Pharmacy theatre teamsStock management by performing monthly cycle counts and quarterly stock take. Assist in managing dead stock within the pharmacy and hospital.Job Requirements:A relevant pharmaceutical qualification (B.Pharm.
