Lead Instrument And Control Technology

Ingrain is seeking a Lead Instrument and Control Technology to join the dynamic Technology Group department. The main purpose for this role is to be the custodian of Instrumentation and Control Engineering Systems for Ingrain SA. To direct and co-ordinate Capital Projects to sustain and continuously improve systems in line with business goals and strategy. To lead with the design, development, implementation and commissioning of strategic business control systems projects. To direct and co-ordinate production digitization initiatives which integrate with the control systems at the operations. To direct and co-ordinate cyber security programs and initiatives which mitigate all risks to the business. To direct and co-ordinate technical operations support by providing subject matter expertise on Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technology. Role Output Financial Achieves results through team and others with optimal use of resources Manages engineering team to ensure effective costing, procurement and cash flow management for all projects Responsible to provide annual strategic input for Capex budgeting for all Operations on all Instrumentation and Control Systems Equipment and Processes. Provide input to operations Instrumentation and Control engineering maintenance and training budgets Awareness of impact on business of financial decisions People Clearly communicates business values, business strategic goals and departmental goals. Responsible for the performance management of the engineering team members and providing appropriate feedback relating to department goals Responsible for developing, coaching and mentoring the engineering team Delegates tasks/areas of responsibility in accordance with team strengths and development areas Support and assist team and colleagues in developing technical solutions. Ensures adequate availability of tools, resources and training to the engineering team members Business Processes Provide effective engineering and decision support to mills for optimisation of processes and systems to achieve benchmarked reliability, efficiencies, process reliability and business plan requirements. Delivers an effective and professional Project Engineering service Develops and communicates operational strategy and plans aligned with business strategy Sourcing and development of Instrumentation and Control Engineering technologies relevant to the industry in achievement of strategic goals. Provide input, manage and ensure execution of feasibility studies and conceptual designs. Planning and distribution of team activities Ensures team operates within SHERQ standards Drives initiatives and implements, advises and provides input into the Continuous Improvement on safety, quality, production output, reliability and company growth Challenges status quo of business processes for optimization of business operations, engineering systems and cost benefits. Applies best practice systems and procedures in planning and organising engineering support programs, problem solving and cost management. Customers (internal & external) Demonstrates understanding of internal and external customer needs, expectations and delivers accordingly Delivers an effective and professional Project Engineering service for all Instrumentation and Control systems across the business Provides expert Instrumentation and Control systems advice and problem-solving support service to all Operations in maintaining and improving equipment and systems. Provides subject matter and problem-solving expertise in resolving critical problems at all operations Manages and provides effective Control system engineering service to all operations Defines and ensures conformance to Instrumentation and Control system engineering standards Manages and provides Control Systems OEM service level agreements for all control systems across the business Listens to, accurately captures and actions customer's expectations, ideas and concerns Builds effective working relationship with key stakeholders Sustainability Manages and provides effective Control Systems to all operations by ensuring all systems are maintained and improved to ensure sustainability. This role supports the strategy by: Providing transactional Instrumentation and Control System projects according to the group engineering support goals, priorities and plans. Applying and developing best practice systems and procedures in planning and organising projects, problem solving and cost management. Providing Operational support for all Instrumentation and Control systems engineering functions. Providing technical guidance, training and mentorship Identifying, assessing and developing new instrumentation and control systems engineering practices to adhere to continuous improvement strategies. Managing and executing Control Systems Engineering Service to all Operations Providing 24-hour Standby functions on the control systems in place at the operations Minimum requirements * Qualifications BSc.
