Laboratory Technician

Job Description:Responsible for analysis, monitoring and evaluation of materials and plant processes (e.g. metal pretreatment, e-coat) to ensure strict adherence to the company quality standards.Use analytical techniques and chemical knowledge to assist with investigations and problem solving.Conducts material evaluation as per the ISIR process.Conducts calibration/verification of equipment.Ensures adherence to SHEQ standards.Responsible for self-development.Job Requirements:Minimum NQF 7 - Degree in Chemistry or relevant equivalent3 years' experience working in a chemical laboratoryExperience with automotive coatings, metal pretreatment and e-coat processes would be advantageousExperience with various analytical techniques - e.g. Karl Fischer titration, scanning electron microscope, FTIR spectrophotometer – and test methods e.g. titrations.Analytical and conceptual thinking.Excellent communication and report-writing skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.Ability to perform the minimum required physical and mental requirements of the function.
