Junior Payroll Administrator

Job PurposeProcess the organisation's payroll in a timely and accurate manner. Create and maintain employees' payroll records. Calculating salaries/wages and applicable deductions based on employee attendance, sickness, tax liabilities and timesheet records. Enter payroll information into central system for processing. Complete payroll reports.Key Performance AreasCompile on Excel Job Costing Batches for Seagoing vesselsAssist with Macros and Importing of Batches for Monthly and weekly pay runSourcing information and preparing of routine and ad-hoc reports and paymentsManage end-to-end payroll processing for employees, including data entry, validation, and reconciliation.Ensure accurate calculation and payment of salaries, wages, bonuses, and other compensation components.Generate payroll reports for management and accounting purposes.KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:Grade 12 with 2-5 years' experience within the payroll fieldMinimum of 1 years' experience working on Sage 300 people with Job costing modules.Solid knowledge of payroll principles, processes and proceduresSolid understanding of relevant legislation (Tax, BCEA, Employee Benefits)Excel intermediate userExcellent administration skills and good communication skillsGood time management and organisational skillsDetail-oriented, Proactive, Pressure resilient, Independent but needs to be a team playerStrong attention to detailExperience with time and attendance and multiple pay frequenciesExperience within the fishing industry would be an added advantage
