As a Junior Buyer, you will be responsible for assisting in the procurement of materials, equipment, and services necessary for mining operations. This role involves supporting the Senior Buyer and Procurement Manager in ensuring that purchases are made in a cost-effective, timely, and compliant manner.Key Responsibilities:Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and servicesMaintain and update the supplier databaseBuild and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure high-quality goods and servicesMonitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock without overstockingCoordinate with site teams to ensure efficient inventory flowConduct regular inventory auditsIdentify opportunities for cost savings and process improvementsEnsure procurement activities are within budget constraintsEnsure all procurement activities comply with company policies and regulationsMaintain accurate and up-to-date procurement records and documentationAssist in preparing reports and presentations for managementWork closely with other departments, such as operations and finance, to understand procurement needsCommunicate effectively with internal stakeholders to align purchasing activities with project timelines and requirementsProvide regular updates on procurement status and any issues or delaysConduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, new products, and suppliersAnalyze market conditions to identify potential risks and opportunities in the supply chainMinimum Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field3 to 5 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in the mining or heavy industry sectorFamiliarity with procurement software and inventory management systemsStrong negotiation and communication skillsExcellent organizational and time-management abilitiesAttention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solvingProficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
