Your opportunity: In this role, you will join the Faculty of Information at the University of Toronto, where innovation, technology, and human-centered perspectives drive our research and educational excellence. As a key member of our IT team, you will work within a dynamic, collaborative environment focused on delivering high-impact technology solutions across the faculty. Reporting to the Director of Technology Services, you will divide your time between leading IT projects and overseeing audio-visual needs, contributing to the strategic and operational success of the faculty's IT systems.
Your responsibilities will include: Analyzing the security and integrity of highly complex system problems and/or implications of any new or changed procedure or technologyDeveloping and updating architectural framework for highly complex and confidential university-wide IT systemsAdvising on the creation of efficiencies for business processes and productivityLeading and planning IT projectsDeveloping charter, scope, resources and schedule for project(s)Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Science or Computer Science, or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience. Technical accreditation specific to IT project management, and process improvement is considered an asset.Minimum five years of direct experience in overseeing and analyzing complex IT initiatives, including all aspects of requirements analysis, environmental analysis, process streamlining, providing recommendations, and implementing new or updated systems.Experience leading and planning IT projects; Experience with change management concepts and practical application.Experience developing business solutions, coordinating stakeholders and project teams including developing charter scope, resources and schedule of projects.Demonstrated related experience with data analysis and data modeling, requirements gathering, documentation techniques (contextual inquiries, surveys, use cases, scenarios, user stories, process diagrams etc.) and writing technical specifications.Demonstrated experience reviewing design specifications, and coordinating feedback from stakeholders, partners and consultants.Demonstrated experience in training users and creating documentation for new and existing solutions.In-depth and demonstrated knowledge with AV technology and ability to keep abreast of developments in AV technology, with a strong emphasis on user experience.Demonstrated experience supporting existing IP video conferencing and digital media streaming technologies, as well as web-based collaboration and conference technologies.Proficiency with industry-standard AV technologies, including videoconferencing and web streaming products, gatekeepers, gateways, MCUs, firewall traversal tools, networking and standard communication protocols (like H.323, SIP, and H.264 protocols).Advanced proficiency with MS Visio and MS Office 365, including MS Teams, SharePoint, Forms.Excellent meeting facilitation skills with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of faculty, staff and students to gather requirements, track action items, and problem-solve issues.Tactful, and discrete, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and sound judgment.Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure and meet competing priorities and deadlines.Ability to solve complex technical and logistical problems and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users.Superior communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to analyze and synthesize information from multiple sources and provide recommendations.Demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.Assets (Nonessential): Familiarity with Lean process designPrevious experience working in an Agile development project and SOA methodologyExperience with any web application languages, web server technologies and database applications would be considered an assetTo be successful in this role you will be: Self-directedTeam playerClosing Date: 12/06/2024, 11:59PM ET

USW Pay Band 16 -- $101,539. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $129,851. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
