Our role involves identifying necessary resources and providing Indigenous leadership, aiming to create culturally safe learning and working environments where Indigenous knowledge is respected and valued.As Indigenous Outreach and Program Coordinator, you will support the implementation of strategies to engage Indigenous communities and prospective students, represent the Office of Indigenous Health at community events, and provide knowledge and administrative support for educational programs, curricular content, and workshops on Indigenous health, cultural safety, and related topics.Your responsibilities will include:Supporting the development and implementation of programs and program evaluationPromoting programs and service offeringsAnalyzing and making recommendations for student program enhancementsFacilitating educational workshops and seminarsAttending fairs and speaking to community members and prospective learnersServing as a resource and supporting the recruitment of committee membersEssential Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in community development, indigenous studies or related disciplines, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum four years' related outreach and program experience working within Indigenous communities and agenciesStrong knowledge of Indigenous educational issues and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Final ReportExperience working and collaborating in cross-cultural settingsClear experience of culturally safe practices when working with Indigenous peoplesExperience coordinating education programs and contributing to program development, implementation, and evaluationExperience creating marketing and promotional materialsExperience facilitating workshops and seminarsDemonstrated experience coordinating events and outreach activitiesExperience with data measurement tools and data reportingAdvanced proficiency with MS Office Suite and content management systemsExcellent interpersonal and diplomacy skillsStrong oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated organizational, planning, and analytical skillsMust embrace diversity and inclusion as integral components of a quality university experienceMust be an enthusiastic and energetic team playerAssets (Nonessential):Knowledge of the Temerty Faculty of Medicine and its community partnersTo be successful in this role you will be:ApproachableMulti-taskerPerceptivePossess a positive attitudeClosing Date: 10/11/2024, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USWAppointment Type: Budget - ContinuingSchedule: Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone: USW Pay Band 11 -- $75,223. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $96,196.Lived Experience Statement: Candidates who are members of Indigenous, Black, racialized and 2SLGBTQ+ communities, persons with disabilities, and other equity deserving groups are encouraged to apply.Diversity Statement: The University of Toronto embraces Diversity and is building a culture of belonging.
