We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Sales. In this role you will be leading a Key Account Assistant and be responsible to develop and execute sales strategies to enhance brand visibility and drive business growth. Focus on acquiring new clients while maintaining strong relationships with existing ones, to consistently meet or surpass sales targets and ensure profitability. The position requires significant travel and time away from home.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure that strategic goals set by senior management are transformed into actionable business plans, with clear metrics established to track and measure progress.
Design and execute sales policies, programs, and structures at both customer and operational levels to meet the business's financial objectives.
Develop and manage the implementation of the Key Account Customer strategy nationally.
Leverage new technologies and innovations in line with best practices.
Ensure consistent sales volume by monitoring evolving market trends, economic indicators, competitor activity, and supply and demand dynamics.
Interpret and execute national and regional customer planned Co-Op activities, marketing promotions, new product listings, and category space management layouts.
Create compelling merchandising displays and product assortments that engage customers and boost sales.
Analyze sales data and market trends to identify opportunities for optimizing product placement and assortment.
Ensure that annual plans include up-to-date budgets that are accurate, accessible, and regularly reported.
Adhere to finance policies and regulations.
Oversee budget management and expense optimization.
Project annual operational and capital expenditure in accordance with established guidelines.
Monitor expenses against the approved budget.
Establish cost control measures and report any significant cost variances.
Identify opportunities for efficiency and implement initiatives to reduce costs.
Provide reports on profitability and profit and loss (P&L).
Actively oversee suppliers and their performance; develop and maintain Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with all manufacturers and suppliers in collaboration with the Operations team.
Cultivate and maintain productive relationships with customers.
Maintain partnerships with regional and international associations.
Minimum qualification:
Relevant degree in Marketing or Sales.
What are we looking for:
Ten years of relevant functional experience.
Eight years experience in a senior sales leadership role, with a track record of driving revenue growth.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate a high-performing team.
Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
A strategic mindset with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
Strong understanding of consumer behaviour and market trends.
