Position in the Organisation:Structural Unit - Southern African Sourcing Hub1st Line Manager - Executive: Southern African SourcingDirect Subordinate(s) - Head of Engineering, Head of NPD and Quality and Head of ProductionOverall Purpose of the JobPurpose StatementOversee all the operational aspects within the sauce manufacturing environment. Responsible to drive revenue growth, operational excellence, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and implement strategies to optimize production efficiency and profitability as well as assist in building a high performing and positive company culture.Education (Formal Qualification Required)MinimumBachelor's degree in Industrial EngineeringIdealA Master's degree is preferred.Legal RequirementsValid driver's licenseExperience (Experience Required and indication of time spent to gain that experience)Proven experience in Production - 10+ yearsDemonstrated experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and project management - 5 yearsFood Manufacturing experience - 10 yearsStrong understanding of high-throughput production processes - 7 yearsFinancial Analytics and Business Acumen - 10+ yearsPosition DescriptionImplement the Manufacturing and Sourcing Strategy for Groceries and IP SaucesOversee implementation of the business unit manufacturing and sourcing strategies and plans to achieve production targets and growth of market shareDevise long-term plans to achieve growth and evolutionDevelop and implement growth strategiesManufacturing and Factory OversightManage the manufacturing operating models and workflow implementation and adherence within the factorySet guidelines, design systems and determine procedures and production quality criteria to be implemented in the factoryMitigate and ensure correction of manufacturing risksManage the performance of manufacturing areasMonitor and report on performance against objectives and key performance indicatorsQuality AssuranceOversee adherence to quality procedures, standards and specifications that are in line with legal and any additional customer requirementsEnsure that manufacturing processes comply with standards at both national and international level and regulationsImplement changes and improvements in performance/quality and deal with all deviations and non-complianceOversee quality assurance and adherence to legislation of final goodsNew Product DevelopmentAssess product lines and lead business review process by assessing sales information, taste profile of customers, market size and opportunitiesDrive new product lines based on detailed assessment of data and inform the business of new requirements and linesEngage with relevant stakeholders to investigate other product opportunities that would support purpose-driven business and commercial targetsBuild partnerships with other key manufacturers to investigate opportunities for new linesDevise business cases for potential opportunities to expand lines to request capital investment from the boardEngage with Heads of Groceries and Supply in regions to investigate requirements and growth opportunitiesCulture Creation and People ManagementDemonstrate and drive behaviour aligned to the company valuesCreate a winning culture by continuously engaging employees, ensuring effective "two-way" communication is achievedAssist with the implementation and embedding of a high performance cultureAddress poor behaviours timeously and foster a positive work environmentReporting, Budget and Financial ManagementManage the development, implementation and review of the Business Unit budgetsMonitor adherence to project budgets and propose cost-saving measures where appropriateManage all costs including agency fees, production and distribution costsConduct post-campaign analysis and reportingSpecial RequirementsCoordinating shutdowns and installationsUpdating job knowledge by remaining current on codes and requirementsParticipating in educational opportunitiesReading professional publicationsMaintaining personal networksParticipating in professional organisationsDesired Skills:Strong work ethicFMCG experienceNPDManaged a teamStrong understanding of the production processDesired Work Experience:More than 10 years Executive Management / Director experience
