Head of Legal Recoveries & Insolvency - Gauteng, CenturionTo design, implement and manage an end-to-end legal recoveries capability that is recognised as a valuable and strategic function of the bank.You will be responsible for maximising cost-effective recoveries and through this, supporting the retail and business and corporate banking strategy.You will play a pivotal role in the maintenance of acceptable Non-Performing Loans (NPLs) percentage in relation to the loan book.You will manage legal risks of the Bank and manage the legal recoveries process as well as external service providers' performance.You will be responsible for drafting and vetting various types of agreements pertaining to the legal recovery process.Minimum Requirements (Non-negotiable)Education:Admission as an attorney or admitted Advocate having served pupillage.Experience:8+ years experience in legal recoveries/debt collection environment, including operating in a banking environment at a senior management level.8+ years experience in restructuring of distressed accounts.Understanding of legislation, policies, procedures, and business environment related to recovery processes.Understanding of insolvency and business rescue legislation and practices in South Africa.Familiarity with systems (SAP, ICT).Additional Requirements:Knowledge of Public Finance Management Act (PFMA).Must be willing to work on-site 3 days a week at head office based in Centurion area.Desired Skills:Banking.Legal and solvency strategy.People Management.Stakeholder Management.Desired Work Experience:5 to 10 years in Banking.5 to 10 years in Middle/Department Management.Desired Qualification Level:Degree.About The Employer:This specialist agricultural bank was established in 1912 with the sole objective of serving South African commercial and emerging farmers, bringing specially designed financial services within their reach.
