Job Title: HandymanLocation: Hermanus, South AfricaPurpose of the Role: La Vierge Wines is seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Handyman to manage and maintain our beautiful estate in Hermanus. This position requires hands-on management of various maintenance tasks to ensure the estate and facilities are kept in pristine condition. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, be able to work under pressure, and be available for emergencies.Key Responsibilities:Perform a wide range of handyman tasks including basic plumbing, electrical work, painting, carpentry, and general repairs.Conduct regular inspections to identify and address maintenance needs throughout the estate and facilities.Manage security and access control.Liaise with tenants and promptly attend to any issues that arise.Maintain accurate records of all work performed and materials used.Respond to emergency maintenance needs and support other team members as required.Assist with setting up venues as needed and collaborate with contractors on-site for major repairs.Take accountability for tools and equipment, ensuring they are well-maintained and stored properly.Support and oversee subcontracted services and coordinate with the general managerEnsure all safety and emergency procedures are followed and maintained.Qualifications and Experience:Minimum of 4 years' experience as a handyman, tradesman, caretaker, or building manager.Proven experience with a variety of hardware tools and electrical equipment.Basic understanding of plumbing and electrical systems.Matric or equivalent qualification.Competent in using the MS Office Suite.Valid Code B (Code EB preferred) driver's license with a clear driving record.Clear criminal record.Ability to work under pressure, multitask, and remain calm in emergencies.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Benefits:Competitive salary based on experienceOpportunities for growth and development within the companyTraining and support in a dynamic and professional environmentHow to Apply:If you are a skilled handyman with a strong technical background and are ready to take on a new and exciting challenge, we would love to hear from you.Note: Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
