Group Accountant PositionThis Durban-based Group is looking to appoint a seasoned and experienced Group Accountant, with a proven track record of success and technical skills.Responsible for the full finance function of a rapidly expanding and profitable Group.This is a results-orientated, hands-on and pressurised/demanding role.Open to South African Citizens only.Immediate availability would be advantageous.Working hours: 07h00 - 17h00 plus extra hours when required.Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe Group Accountant reports to the Group CFO and would best suit a candidate who is confident in their abilities, hands-on and detail-oriented; must be willing to roll up their sleeves and be fully involved.Must have superior technical skills and be experienced in preparing financial statements with consolidations.Will be required to take full responsibility for meeting strict reporting deadlines, all income statement items, expense/ratio analysis and oversee the payroll function.Responsible for driving efficiencies, improving procedures and system developments.Preparation of monthly management accounts and all internal management reports, VAT, Tax, Audit etc.Supervising a staff of approximately 10.Managing the Debtors and Creditors Departments.Will have a background in a Corporate/Head Office environment.Desired Experience & QualificationCandidate Characteristics:Confident, well-organised and precise.Meticulous and analytical.Strong/calm personality.Professional & Educational Qualifications:Recognised accounting qualification: B.Com/ B.Com Hons./CMA/ CTA.Experience in Sage Evolution & Excel advantageous.Package & RemunerationR650,000 – R850,000 negotiable + discretionary bonus and benefits depending on experience & qualifications.Required documentation:Copy of your up-to-date CV together with the following detail:Your availability (notice period).Reasons for leaving or wishing to leave your current/previous employment.Your current (or most recent) salary package including detail of all benefits and bonuses.Date of your next salary review.Salary/Package expectations in a new role.
