General Manager

Job Description:As the General Manager, you will be responsible for the overall management of the venue. You will lead all aspects of the bar and club operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and top-notch customer service. This role requires strong leadership skills, a hands-on approach, and a passion for creating a fun and safe environment for patrons.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, stock take and customer service
Lead and motivate a team of bartenders, servers, security staff, and support personnel
Ensure the venue complies with all health, safety, and licensing regulations
Manage budgets, financial reporting, and cost controls to maximize profitability
Plan and execute marketing strategies and promotional events to attract patrons
Build relationships with customers, local suppliers, and entertainment providers
Handle any customer complaints, ensuring excellent service recovery
Coordinate security and safety procedures for patrons and staff
Foster a positive and energetic work environment
Manage private functions and secure private venue hire bookings

Requirements:

Proven experience as a General Manager or similar managerial role in the hospitality industry, preferably in bars or nightclubs
Strong leadership and communication skills
Ability to manage finances, budgets, stock take and inventory
Knowledge of hospitality regulations, including liquor licensing and health & safety laws
Excellent problem-solving abilities and conflict resolution skills
Ability to work late hours, weekends, and holidays
Customer-focused mindset with a passion for nightlife culture
Preferably based in Plettenberg Bay or surrounds already or alternativly have accommodation leads
