Main purpose of the job:To maintain a safe and clean working environment and provide office support and refreshments at specified timesLocation:James Murray Building, NHLS Braamfontein - JohannesburgKey performance areas:Vacuum assigned offices, corridors and common areasEmpty all office and lab waste bins and replace linersWipe and dust office furniture and equipment, taking extra care with the lab equipmentStore cleaning equipment and products neatly in designated cupboardsMonitor the usage and stock levels of groceries, consumables and suppliesReport anything in need of ordering, repair or replacement to managementPerform any other similar or ad hoc duties as requiredWash crockery and cutlery and pack it away neatlyClean sinks, taps and wipe surrounding surfacesEmpty kitchen waste binsWipe the microwave, fridge and other kitchen equipment as requiredPerform basic sterilisation procedures as requiredMaintain grocery and crockery stockDisinfect and wash floors and lavatories dailyEmpty paper towel waste binsClean mirrors, doors, and door handles/locksCheck liquid soap dispenser and replace soap as necessarySetup crockery and refreshments for booked venues at scheduled timesTidy and clean areas after meetings and/or eventsWash crockery and pack it away neatlyOpen/lock doors, open/close windows and deactivate/activate the alarm before and after meetings or eventsReport anything in need of ordering, repair or replacement to managementRequired minimum education and training:Grade 12 Required minimum work experience: Minimum 1 years' experience in office cleaning (laboratory cleaning experience would be advantageous)Desirable additional education, work experience and personal abilities:Knowledge on the use of equipment and chemicals needed for cleaningShould be professional, organised and able to work in a timely mannerShould possess a strong work ethic and a positive approach to tasksShould be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary teamShould be willing to take instructions from event organisersShould be punctual and able to follow schedules and work to instructionsShould be able to carry out physical activities i.e.
