Gauteng Transport Manager

The Transport Manager will be responsible for: Scheduling and monitoring large truck fleet Ensure the Controllers are continuously monitoring the fleet at all times Collaborate with our in-house truck workshop to ensure vehicles are properly maintained and roadworthy Managing drivers, administrators, controllers and scheduler/s Managing the driver training process (truck and truck mounted crane and attachment or skip, roro mechanism and tipper) Keep track of and account for all diesel consumption Ensure that all customer transport requirements are completed timeously Ensure that all drivers have the correct documentation and equipment. Written and verbal reporting to, and communication with management is accurate and timely QUALIFYING CRITERIA Transportation management diploma or equivalent will be an advantage. Minimum 10 years' experience in a busy transport environment Leadership experience and management of a team Computer proficiency; packages required : MS Word, Excel and outlook QUALIFYING ATTRIBUTES Self-motivated, accurate, goal orientated and attention to detail. Able to analyse and implement verbal instructions. Ability to multi-task and manage demanding workload in a pressurised environment. Ability to work independently and within a team. Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results (time management).
