Reservations Specialist
will ensure that reservations are maximised through the booking, daily follow-up and confirmation of reservations, thereby ensuring maximum room revenue for the Hotel.
Aside from handling phone & email enquiries regarding reservations, you will process reservations, including cancellations and changes, accurately & efficiently according to procedures in Opera. Part of your role will be to update booking systems with new reservations & changes and all channel bookings with the correct information.
You will ensure detailed billing instructions are added to bookings, monitor availability, and manage overbooking situations, ensuring all special requests and requirements are met. Preparing reports on reservation activity and providing exceptional customer service to clients, you will keep abreast of activities/offerings within the Hotel and attempt to up sell these to guests.
Resolving any issues or complaints related to reservations, you will assist with other administrative tasks and achieve the minimum monthly prescribed targets set by hotel management in accordance with the Hotel's annual budget. Ensuring booking revenue is maximised and no unnecessary revenue is lost will form part of this role.
You have a Matric Certificate with a Hotel Diploma or Degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position in a similar 4*/5* establishment with a basic understanding of revenue management. You must understand how to implement yield management principles and have basic accounting skills. It would help if you were Computer Literate, including MS Office and Opera, with experience in GDS Operating systems and website intranets. You're able to work various shifts when needed.

Your product knowledge of the Hotel will enhance guest experiences and drive customer satisfaction.
