JOB TITLE: Finance ManagerLOCATION: Cape TownHotel: The RockefellerSCOPE & PURPOSE OF THE JOBAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly talented and experienced Financial Manager to join the finance team. The main purpose of this role is to be responsible for the accounting and financial function.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES· The main responsibilities are managing and maintaining the accounting records, including the full processing of all monthly transactions, suppliers and debtors in line with the applicable reporting standards. This includes ensuring that the accounting records are accurate and fairly present the financial performance and position of the hotel.· The monthly preparation of the management accounts and executive summaries, detailing variances against prior year and budget.· Submission of the monthly management pack to HO.· The monthly reconciliations of all balance sheets and immediate follow up and resolution of differences.· Computation and submission of VAT.· Preparation of the annual budget and monthly monitoring of spending in line with budget. This includes communication with the various departments regarding their expenditure.· Maintaining the debtors and suppliers age analysis, including the bi-monthly and month-end payment process of creditors.· Assist and final review of the monthly payroll submissions to the payroll department at HO.· Co-ordinate with external auditors over the year end audit and ensure timeous completion and sign off of the annual financial statements.· Calculations, reconciliations and submissions of VAT.· Preparation and monitoring of cash flow projections, including strong management of cash control.· Oversee the finance team of the hotel and assist team members, where necessary.· Conduct and participate in weekly feedback meeting with other head of department within the hotel.· Work closely with the General Manager of the hotel and to provide assistance and feedback from a finance perspective that will assist with decision making.· Timeous identification of issues and immediate resolution.· Building and maintaining a relationship with all stakeholders and owners, including effective communication.· Implement and maintaining strong internal control processes to improve efficiencies, standardise processes and reduce risk to the business· Carry-out finance directives from Newmark head officeSKILLS & KNOWLEDGE· Minimum 3 years' Financial Management experience· Proficient on SAGE Evolution and advanced Excel.· Opera and Micros knowledge (hospitality finance experience) will be advantageous· Must be able to collaborate with the team, as well as independently· Attention to detail· Self-motivated, innovative, problem solver & strong negotiator· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills· Analytical acumen· Ability to work in a pressurized environment with deadlines· Great planning skills and organisation abilities
