1 year financial planning & reporting experience is critical for this role Competencies Strong financial analysis skills to assess the financial health of Pick n Pay, analyze financial data and provide guidance in financial strategy and performance.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting requirements and financial statement analysis.
Ability to identify, assess and manage financial risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to protect Pick n Pay form financial losses.
Strong data analysis and management skills to analyze large amounts of data using finance tools such as SAP, BBP and Analysis for Office.

To provide all finance support to run the business area including driving improved profitability and cost efficiencies.
Collaborate with Retail and Fresh leadership to understand and align financial strategies across Pick n Pay Business's with the overall strategic intent of the retail division.
Ensure that financial plans and objectives support the business & long-term goals and growth strategies.
Prepare business cases for new initiatives and investments as required by the Head of Retail/Finance Division.
Monitor performance against approved business cases and approved budget.
Draw reports to generate insights to support decision-making within the retail division.
Monitor financial performance, identify key trends, and analyze variances against budgets and forecasts.
Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
Prepare regular financial reports for retail leaders and senior management e.g.
daily, weekly and monthly financial reports, forecasts and budgets.
Maintain project budgets and forecasts.
Ensure adherence to financial reporting standards and regulations and avoid conflicts of interest that could comprise objectivity.
Develop a deep understanding of the overall Meat industry and Pick n Pay business and align your advice and key decisions to support it.
Analyse cross-functional and business data to inform strategic, operational and domain specific trends and observations for review to business.
Support the Retail Finance executives by understanding and integrating with business to enhance services offered and identify new services finance can initiate to support the business.
Assist business in resolving financial audit queries.
Implement and ensure continuous improvement on all processes between Finance and the Operations functional areas.
Lead or contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting processes for the retail division and monitor and track against targets.
Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the financial performance of the operating division.
Guide and assist in planning and improvements based on performance and operational data.
Collaborate effectively with cross functional teams to develop a model that identifies future potential financial issues and develop contingency plans i.e.
identifying revenue stream and optimizing expenses to address possible potential issues that may arise.
Act as the Risk Manager for the Operating Region and manage all risk related matters, audit queries and Insurance claims processes.
