An industry-leading client of ours is currently looking for an experienced and ambitious Facilities Manager/Controller to join their team.Responsibilities:Inspect, repair, and maintain electrical (including inverter), plumbing, or janitorial problems.Responsible for the upkeep and improvement of the facilities, buildings, and grounds: Painting of buildings and service of air-conditioners.Establish processes and procedures to improve the department.Investigating, overseeing, and agreeing on contracts of providers for services.Supervising multi-disciplinary teams of staff including cleaning, maintenance, and grounds.Ensuring that basic facilities, such as water, are well-managed and maintained.Managing budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness.Ensuring that facilities meet government regulations and environmental, health, and safety standards.Conduct audits and document regular facilities inspections.Check completed work by vendors and contractors (according to agreed standards).Overseeing building projects, renovations, or refurbishments.Manage repairs and maintenance of:ForkliftsTrolley jacksConveyor systemsDrafting reports and making written recommendations.Responsible for Health and Safety policies and procedures (16.2 Appointment):Develop, implement, and manage inspections schedules, policies, and procedures.Prepare and schedule training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics in order to ensure that all employees and contractors improve the health and safety standards in the workplace.Monitor compliance with safety procedures.Maintain records related to health and safety; IODs.Responsible to manage and identify hazards and risks in the workplace and implement appropriate measures.Responsible for all safety inspections (i.e., monitoring noise levels).Responsible to investigate accidents (OHS-related).Ensure that the business is legally compliant with all health and safety legislation.Responsible for dealing with the Landlord of the property – this includes insurance inspections, insurance claims, and repairs to the building that need to be carried out.Ensuring compliance as per insurance requirements includes maintaining the sprinkler systems and fire hydrants.Requirements:Matric – relevant qualifications would be an advantage.Project management experience related to building maintenance.Budgeting experience.3 – 5 years in a related position.Good communication skills.Analytical and problem-solving skills.Decision-making skills.The ability to lead and manage teams and projects.Teamwork.Attention to detail.Organisation, time management, prioritising, and the ability to handle a complex and varied workload.Extensive knowledge and experience regarding environmental regulations; health and safety regulations and policies (16.2 Appointment).Be mobile around all premises.Own car is a positive.If you meet the above requirements and want to make a career-changing move, apply today by emailing your CV to: ******, you can visit our website to find your next opportunity – www.rporecruitment.co.za or give us a call at 021 180 0776 and ask for Nikki.Please note that correspondence will only be conducted with shortlisted candidates for this position.
