Events Coordinator – 3 Months Ftc

Job Purpose
An Event Coordinator helps organisations enhance their brand image by supervising events to ensure that they achieve the set objectives.
Roles & Responsibilities:

Develop and execute detailed event plans, timelines, and budgets, ensuring all aspects of the event are well-coordinated and executed smoothly.
In-depth knowledge of public relations, hospitality management, project management and product development.
Coordinate all logistical aspects of the event, including venue setup, signage, transportation, accommodations, and guest registration.
Oversee event operations on the day of the event, including managing staff, volunteers, and vendors to ensure everything runs according to plan and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
Serve as the main point of contact for clients, vendors, and attendees, providing timely and professional communication and support throughout the planning and execution process.
Conduct post-event evaluations and analysis to assess the success of the event, gather feedback from clients and attendees, and identify areas for improvement.
Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies in event planning and management.

Minimum Requirements:

National Certificate NQF Level 4 / Grade 12
Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or related field NQF 7.
4-7 years of experience in a similar role
Proven experience in event planning and coordination, with a strong portfolio of successful events.
Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with clients, vendors, and team members.
Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, memorable events.
Proficiency in event management software and tools (e.g., event planning software and project management tools) is a plus.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, depending on event schedules.
