English Teacher

TO QUALIFY TO JOIN OUR SENIOR SCHOOL TEAM AS AN ENGLISH TEACHER YOU WOULD: Have a minimum of 5 years' experience teaching Senior School English (Grades 8 to 12) in a similar school environment to St John's D.S.G., preferably with IEB experience and conversant in IEB SAGS and CAPS.Have a Bachelor of Education, or a similar 4-year Senior / FET qualification in English, with PGCE.The ability to teach Further Studies English (advantageous).Be warm, engaging, resilient, honest, genuine, empathetic and kind.Have excellent teamwork, communication and collaboration skills.Have strong values that align to the Christian ethos of the school.Have a high level of computer competency and be willing to learn new systems.Have a clear criminal clearance certificate.Be SACE registered.OUR EXPECTATIONS ARE THAT YOU WOULD: Fully immerse yourself in the life of our school.Embrace continuous learning.Support the St John's D.S.G School culture as well as its policies and procedures.Go the extra mile for the girls in your care.Utilise an inquiry-based approach in your teaching.Integrate technology into the curriculum, incorporating various electronic media in your lessons.Closing Date: 30th September 2024 Position Available: 1 January 2025 St John's D.S.G. reserves the right not to proceed with the filling of this post.
