Divisional Buyer

Job Responsibilities:Sourcing new and maintaining current supplier relations to ensure on-time delivery and budgeted sales and gross profit goals; suppliers include AVI, ABI, TIGER BRANDS, etc.Negotiate to maximize ad monies, allowances, and contractual monies.Negotiation and achievement of pricing objectives per supplier.Communicate concise direction to successfully implement sales initiatives; resolve issues expediently.Create promotions to stimulate sales and profits (work alongside Account Managers).Direct Space Management and merchandising initiatives to stimulate sales.Attend and represent the Company at trade shows and functions.Facilitate supplier business reviews.Select, manage, and maintain internal and external relationships and alliances.Liaise with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with strategic initiatives.Category management and understanding.Measuring and reporting on supplier and category performance.Negotiating with and influencing suppliers to achieve improved service, pricing, and contracts.Skills:Confidence and ability to work autonomously.FMCG buying experience across all categories such as Groceries, Home Care, Personal Care, etc.A highly driven and motivated personality; attention to detail.Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.Good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).Qualifications:Matric.8-10 years of experience in buying (not procurement) at senior level.FMCG experience required dealing with various categories.SAP experience is advantageous.Desired Skills:Buyer.FMCG.Cape Town.Customers.Deals.Negotiation.About The Employer:Our client based in Century City, Cape Town, is seeking a Divisional Buyer.
