Diesel Mechanic

Candidate requirements: Highly motivated and reliable individual Capable of problem-solving, planning, and excellent interpersonal skills Demonstrating a proven track record of vehicle fleet management and vehicle maintenance. Recognized qualification as a diesel mechanic Minimum 3 years of experience working on diesel vehicles Experience in general maintenance of water pumps and other machinery Experience in a supervisory role Passion for vehicles Attention to detail Proficient in English and Afrikaans Computer literacy Key responsibilities: Maintenance of the reserves fleet of vehicles, including preventative and ad-hoc maintenance Ordering of parts and ensuring their timely delivery Maintenance of a neat and organized workshop with an adequate stock of frequently used spares Supervision and training of workshop staff Contribution towards sustainability goals by constantly seeking ways to make vehicle and workshop operations more environmentally friendly Repairs and maintenance of gate motors and solar and electrical water pumps Effective financial management of workshop operations through the administration and recording of orders, and stock control Working within agreed budgets Record-keeping of vehicle service schedules and other related administrative tasks Ensuring quality and care of workshop equipment and products following SOPs Other duties as may be requested by the Reserve Manager This property is also looking for a field guide & can consider a couple.
