Cutter - Green Thread Design Studio

We are currently in search of a results driven All Round Cutter in the Green Thread Design Studio.Primary ResponsibilitiesUnderstand a Master pattern together with brief and fabric.Qualified in handling all fabric types woven and knit.Good knowledge of the application of fusing, as specified by design.Read brief sheets, correct fabric and fusing to be used, main fabric, contrast fabric, binding etc.Ensure pattern is laid out to achieve the best utilization of fabric.Lays up pattern, marks it out correctly and cuts with precision under pressure.The ability to understand (read) a pattern, sketch and information is very important.Understands specific cutting instructions, AOP, engineered, placement and other specifications relative to the nature of the fabric.Manage and control meterage of fabric received and keep a good record of all sampling.Job RequirementsGrade 12 with mathematical abilityMinimum 10 years' experience as a cutterComputer skills in Microsoft Office, Word and Excel is beneficial.Proven work experience in the Clothing Manufacturing Environment – LadieswearCompetenciesAccurate & a proactive approachSelf-motivated, responsible, and reliableGood interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team with excellent organizational and planning skills.Ability to work under pressure and meet targets.Disciplined and organized.Good time managementStrategic & forward thinkerGood track record of abiding by Company Policies and Procedures i.e., Health and Safety Requirements.Please note: The Cape Union Mart Group is committed to transformation.
