SALARY AND BENEFITS: R720 000 – R840 000 CTC p/a
DESCRIPTION / SYNOPSIS: We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join a subsidiary of a large and established group of manufacturing companies. Although the role focuses mainly on cost/management accounting, the successful candidate will also have some financial accounting related responsibilities. Our ideal candidate will have a solid background in both cost and financial accounting, with experience managing stock and overseeing cost structures to improve profitability and efficiency. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting CIMA or studying towards Minimum of 5 years of experience in cost accounting and financial accounting within the manufacturing industry Completed SAIPA/SAICA articles with post-article experience in costing will be a good fit, but is not essential Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, financial reporting, and manufacturing processes Proficiency in Syspro ERP system is a significant advantage Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) RESPONSIBILITIES: Analyze and monitor manufacturing costs, including material, labor, and overhead Develop and maintain accurate cost accounting records, including standard costing and variance analysis Manage financial accounting tasks, including assisting with month-end and year-end financial reporting Oversee stock management and inventory controls, ensuring accurate stock records and reporting Prepare regular financial reports to provide insights into cost performance, stock management, and profitability Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, focusing on cost control and efficiency improvements Investigate cost variances, stock discrepancies, and recommend corrective actions to management Collaborate with production, procurement, and finance teams to optimize cost and stock structures Support month-end and year-end closing processes related to both cost and financial accounting Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable accounting standards SOFT SKILLS/ADDITIONAL INFO: Strong attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Excellent interpersonal skills to work with cross-functional teams Self-motivated and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously Do you see yourself as the successful Cost Accountant at this leading Company?
