The role involves being the professional voice of the company, ensuring that all written materials are accurate and of high quality; working with the staff to develop content for each programme, developing best practices for writing, and promoting the company brand, activities and programme outcomes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Sourcing research and written materials, photos, graphics and quotations for technical media, design, and communications work.Assist with the production of content for the electronic quarterly newsletters and annual reports, programme reports and ad-hoc reports in multiple formats.Working with a graphic designer to create eye-catching content for social media posts, relevant to work in community development, rural development, ECD, agriculture, public employment and small business development.Preparation for monthly bulk email communications strategy, targeting different constituencies: intragovernmental.Communicate developments/changes, newsletters, updates and links to all staff, associates and stakeholders.Manage and maintain the website with service provider.Coordinate seminars, events, and TALKS – including communication and debriefing of speakers, communication with delegates, and creation of knowledge-repository resources for events (i.e., brochures, pamphlets etc.
).Establishing an Online Repository of Learnings/Papers/Think Pieces from all stakeholders.Ability to 'translate' brand and organisational activities into content for social media.Edit and proofread opinion editorials, monthly reports [internal and external] and proposals.Qualifications and Experience Bachelors or Honours degree in Journalism and/or EnglishA minimum of 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar role.Excellent command of the English language both written and verbal.Strong writing and proofreading skills.Experience with content management systems.Great attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills.Ability to give constructive feedback.Conceptual creative abilities.
