Civil Technician – Fibre Trenching

Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Technician with experience in fibre trenching to join our team in Port Elizabeth. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of experience in both fibre and civil work, and a valid driver's license. This role involves executing fibre optic trenching projects, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, and contributing to the successful completion of installations. Key Responsibilities:Perform fibre optic trenching and installation tasks in accordance with project specifications and industry standards.Inspect work to ensure it meets required quality and safety standards; address any issues or discrepancies.Operate and maintain trenching and excavation equipment, ensuring proper usage and adherence to safety protocols.Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress. Report any issues or delays to the project manager.Work closely with other team members and stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient project completion.Adhere to all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and guidelines. Requirements:2-5 years of experience in fibre optic trenching and civil work.Valid driver's license is required.Proficiency in operating trenching and excavation equipment; knowledge of fibre optic installation techniques.Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various weather conditions.Effective communication skills and ability to work well within a team.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.
