Our client, a leading international mining company operating in the Northern Cape, is currently seeking a skilled Civil Engineer to join their team during the critical commissioning phase of a major project.
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all designs and constructions comply with South African regulations and standards.
This is a fixed-term contract position with the potential for extension, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team and play a key role in the successful execution of mining operations.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise the construction of structural and civil components to ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards. Work with contractors and construction teams to resolve any issues that arise during construction. Implement quality control measures to ensure materials and workmanship meet required standards. Conduct regular inspections and tests on construction materials and structures. Ensure all engineering practices adhere to health and safety regulations, minimizing risk to workers and the environment. Develop and enforce safety protocols specific to structural and civil engineering tasks. Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure integrated and cohesive project development. Prepare detailed engineering reports, including design calculations, test results, and progress updates. Develop maintenance plans for structural components to ensure long-term integrity and safety. Eng preferable. At least 8 years of experience within mining, specifically mineral processing industry. Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Mining Safety Act.
