REQUIREMENTS5+ years experience in mechanical/technical procurement in the manufacturingenvironment.Prior experience with vendor management.Demonstrated ability in contract negotiation.Previous involvement in cost-reduction initiativesDUTIESExecute procurement processes and assures quality products /components and material are purchased.Utilize purchasing system to ensure that quality, cost and deliveries are met.Develop, maintains and evaluates supplier relationships.Expedite products, components and services.Negotiate terms, pricing and conditions.Interact with all internal clients including manufacturing, engineering, production and quality as required.Prepare and issue RFQs (Request for Quotation) and input information received into the relevant procurement system.Places orders, after selecting most appropriate sources of supply, giving full weight to competitive quotations, delivery schedules, and vendor quality.Seeks out and propose new vendors to support the supply chain and mitigate single source supply risks.Review and optimize material master data.Assist to ensure BBEEE procurement targets are met.Effectively use master data to ensure more effective procurement.
