MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE The Business Unit Manager is responsible for the financial and operational performance of the Business Unit they are assigned to. They will be required to manage the execution of all operating functions, control costs and conduct business development activities to ensure their region is profitable, well run and long lasting.
DUTIES Ensuring delivery on installations and refurbishments according to forecast dates. Ensuring delivery on planned services (quarterly /monthly) Managing equipment and supplies processes to meet delivery, ensuring that this is validated and meets cost quoted to customers. Ensuring health and safety compliance for internal technicians and external contractors Onboarding of appropriate suppliers/contractors. Contractor compliancy/ alignment – engaging with them on a regular basis, quality of work, pricing, prospective new work, changes in scope of work Inspecting ongoing projects or prospective projects (site visits) Ensuring emergency preparedness for ad hoc duties Managing customer expectations, engaging with customers, and attending at weekly catchup meetings. Ensuring submission of new tenders. Overseeing administrative team and technical team Attending daily stand-up Facilities meetings. QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE Degree / diploma in Project Management, Engineering or another relevant field At least 5 years project management or account management experience of which 2 years in the telecommunication industry Project Management certification or equivalent MS Office suite including MS Projects and Excel skills Project & programme management: able to manage complex projects including concurrent projects Risk management: experienced in identification, assessment and management of project risks Delivering results: ability to plan and organise self and work in order to achieve objectives and targets Capable of training, supervising and managing staff in project management environment. Proven track record of delivering projects within defined timelines under high pressure Occupational Health and Safety act Project budgeting and reporting
