The main purpose of this role will be to manage and oversee business improvement projects, develop and implement long-term strategy to drive excellence in all business improvement projects.Minimum Requirements…Essential:Grade 12 / MatricDiploma in Supply Chain, Engineering, Project Management, Transportation, Logistics, RetailMinimum 3-5 years' managerial experience in a similar role. Advantageous:Six Sigma CertificationPrevious experience in continuous improvement Job Specification…Business Improvement Strategy Development:Develop integrated business improvement strategies that support organisational strategies and goals.Drive complex business analysis to identify business opportunities to improve revenue and profitability particularly in the Supply Chain environment.Provide leadership in the deployment of strategic supply chain and retail levers and techniques.Analyse business trends and markets and ensure the company achieves the greatest value without compromising quality.Develop supply options and contingency plans that support company plans.Lead the implementation of sourcing strategies and projects by liaising and collaborating with business.Develop understanding of business processes across the supply chain as well as system functionalities that supports these processes.Project Management:Manage all Business Excellence related projects.Perform in detail testing, of all current and new processes within the business to identify and ultimately eliminate any mistakes.Accountable to deliver assigned projects during the performance year.Manage all aspects of the defined project within defined timelines, from the determine stage to the implement stage.Maintain efficient workflow to avoid bottlenecks in projects to ensure high quality outputs consistently.Apply continuous improvement principles consistently across all projects.Manage all Business Excellence related projects.Warehouse Support Administration:Create Business Requirement Documents (BRD) to improve or enhance business processes and reporting.Perform and document detailed testing of all these improvements, enhancements, and reports.Create training material and provide training to users on these improvements, enhancements, and reports.Stakeholder Partnership:Establish and maintain a sound relationship with all Operational Resources and Stakeholders.Ensure frequent communication with the Supply Chain Executive both verbally and in writing.Provide a friendly and efficient knowledgeable service to all operations resources and stakeholders.Assist Dis-Chem and CJ Distribution operations resources and stakeholders with general queries as they come in or direct their queries to the relevant people if you are unable to assist with the necessary information.Inform Supply Chain Executive of any discrepancies and unresolved matters.Problem Solving:Report any form of discrepancies to management.Attend to and amend any continuous improvement queries or errors experienced by any operations resource, stakeholders.Build a case for and communicate improvement opportunities and critical areas of need to the business.Communicate and highlight opportunities that may have a financial impact or efficiency improvementrelated opportunities to the business. Analysis & Reporting:Determine root cause of operational challenges, drive process improvements, build KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and metrics, un-earth opportunities and present findings and recommendations to Supply Chain Executive and leadership.Analyse trends visible within the supply chain operations and suggest improvements to the system or business processes.Team Management:Manage and deliver work direction and technical guidance, oversight of workload, guidance on work related issues and performance assessment.Define and embed quarterly and annual objectives for the Business Excellence teams to ensure consistent service delivery.Facilitate the creation of accountable, full-service teams who understand and strive to meet the needs of all stakeholders through effective inspirational leadership.Account for department performance, motivate and manage team in relation to quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives, focusing on all aspects of sound people management.General:Adhere to Dis-Chem Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.Adhere to Health and Safety rules and regulations.Adhere to Dis-Chem Uniform and personal appearance policy.
