A new business division, Tied Agency Distribution, has a position available for a Business Development Manager.
This is a permanent position and will be based in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?This is a specialist position, which is primarily responsible for the implementation and support of the Santam Tied Agent Model, together with the development and support of the Sanlam Short-Term Insurance Advisors.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL IN THE ROLE?Responsible for business development and support functions.Assisting advisors in building profitable Short-Term Insurance practices, through technical, product and sales support.Support growth strategies and maintain existing business supervision, compliance monitoring and vesting of new Short-Term Advisors.Identifying advisors/practices/brokerages for on-boarding purposes – both in respect of the Sanlam Short-Term Insurance and Santam Tied Agent platforms.Coordinating new Short-Term advisors' training and accreditation to enable them to provide advice on/and sell Personal and Commercial Lines products.Facilitating referrals where necessary.QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCEMatric /Grade 12Short-term Insurance related qualificationRE5 Certificate/FAIS compliant (120 credits on NQF level 4)Minimum 3+ years of Business Development experienceMinimum 3+ years' experience in the Short-Term insurance (personal and commercial lines)Valid driver's licenseSKILLS AND COMPETENCIESTarget orientated and results drivenAttention to detail and accuracyExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAnalytical and solution focusedStructured with good organizational skillsSelf-motivated/self-starter and able to work under minimal supervisionConfident to influence, gain commitment and leadNegotiation skillsRelationship and network building skillsWHO ARE WESantam is the market leader in the general insurance industry in Southern Africa.
