The Secretariat provides procedural and administrative support to the University Council, Senate, Institutional Forum and their committees. The Secretariat is seeking to appoint an Administrative Officer whose responsibilities will include the provision of effective and efficient administrative support to the department. The Administrative Officer would largely be responsible for assisting with the administration of online, physical and hybrid meetings, creation and maintenance of databases, and the retrieval of committee information when required. This includes assisting with the booking of venues, departmental minute taking, general office administration, committee administration, financial administration, travel arrangements, and events organisation, where required. This position is ideally suited to a vibrant, self-motivated and efficient person with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Qualification and Experience: Matric with at least 2 years' relevant experience; Be proficient in online video conferencing and communication platforms; Good communication and writing skills in English; Added advantage: Experience working in a higher education environment would be considered advantageous; Knowledge of information technology systems and programmes for the management of committees; Competencies Required: Planning and Organisational Skills; Excellent interpersonal skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Ability to work under pressure; Strong attention to detail; Ability to work effectively as part of a team;
