Accountant

Opportunity at an established, reputable, progressive, forward-thinking Consultancy in Cape Town for an Accountant to join their ranks.

The candidate will have a minimum of 3 years accounting experience, preferably in an accounting firm environment, and completion or partial completion of SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles.
A candidate with the intention of a long-term commitment would be viewed favourably.
Solid experience working with Caseware, compiling AFS and assisting with audits will secure.
Duties and Responsibilities:Perform high-level accounting duties.Preparing accounting work relating to compilations of annual financial statements.Preparation and Review of financial statements in Caseware.Compilations of Annual Financial Statements on Caseware.Perform high-level tax compliance.Preparation and Review of management accounts.Writing up of more complex accounting records of clients.Review monthly bookkeeping / VAT clerks.Responsible for calculating VAT, PAYE and other necessary SARS requirements on a monthly basis.Reconcile Debtors and Creditors on a monthly basis.Payroll and other monthly reviewsReviewing work done by supervised staff before partner review, where applicable.Ad hoc accounting and tax workClient interaction and relations.
Qualifications and Experience:Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Accounting or similar.Partial or completed SAICA, SAIPA or CIMA articles.AGA(SA) or PA(SA) an advantage.Experience with CaseWare, Xero, Pastel, Sage.
Remuneration:R20,000 to R30,000 pm, depending on experience.
