Accountant

Job DescriptionRed Ember Recruitment is seeking to hire an Accountant for a 3 month contract based at the client in Mowbray.ResponsibilitiesAssist with the preparation and maintenance of financial records, including journals, ledgers, and balance sheets.Process invoices, expense reports, and payments accurately and timely.Reconcile bank statements and accounts to ensure accuracy.Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts.Assist with tax filings and compliance requirements.Conduct regular audits to ensure all financial transactions are correctly recorded.Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls and procedures.Provide administrative support to the finance team as needed.Participate in month-end and year-end closing processes.RequirementsDiploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.0-2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles.Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) is a plus.Strong attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent organizational and time-management skills.Good communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with financial analysis and reporting.Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance.
