Accountant

Responsibilities:- Prepare accounts and invoices, including all supporting schedules, for submission to clients- Processing of accounts- Assist Project Manager with overall financial administration, both internal and external, of projects/work packages- Perform the financial administration function of the directorate- Ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system- Ensure that the appropriate files are opened and maintained- Prepare accounts, including all supporting schedules, for submission to clients- Follow-up outstanding accounts and report on reasons for non-payment- Compare suppliers invoices to approved budgets- Advise Creditor Administrator on monies received and authorised payments made- Calculate project-specific rates based on letter of appointment- Manage income accounting on project and/or work package to match income against expenditure.- Maintain and update project income and expenditure budgets, explain variances against budget and assist with corrective action- Cost Management- Reconcile internal and external contras and provision- Strong administration and communication skills (written and spoken)Qualifications and Experience:- Candidate must have a min National Diploma in Accounting/Finance or similar- Minimum of 3 years Financial and Cost Accounting experience- Experience in the management of Public Service FinancesRequirements:- Advanced level of MS Office (Word / Excel / Outlook)
